1862 Liberty Seated Quarter. MS-66 (PCGS).
Exquisite obverse toning greets the viewer in mottled olive-copper, sea-green and antique silver. The reverse, equally original, is more reserved in sandy-silver and rose-russet. Both sides are fully struck with outstanding smooth, intense mint luster. The final high mintage quarter issue before the economic effects of the Civil War began to tell, the circulation strike 1862 was produced to the extent of 932,000 pieces. While survivors are easily enough obtained in lower grades, Gems such as this are rarely offered.
