Description

1804 Draped Bust Dime. JR-1. Rarity-5. 13 Stars on Reverse. AG-3 (PCGS). CAC.
Rare as a CAC-approved example of this key date early dime issue. Although well worn, both sides retain outline definition to the central design elements that extends to the obverse stars, the word LIBERTY, and a few of the letters in the legend on the reverse. The date is fully legible with all four digits bold, and enough of the star field above the eagle is clear to allow ready appreciation of the JR-1 attribution. Pleasingly smooth for the grade with a full endowment of blended dove-gray and olive patina, this attractively original example has much to offer the discerning early dime enthusiast.
PCGS# 4474. NGC ID: 236N.
CAC Population (both die marriages of the issue): 12 in all grades.
From the Collection of James Allaire Millholland, 1842-1911.

Estimate: $3500
