1837 Capped Bust Half Dime. LM-1. Rarity-1. Large 5 C. MS-65 (PCGS).
A predominantly silver-gray example with enhancing blushes of iridescent reddish-russet drifting over the obverse. This is a smooth and satiny coin, as well, the obverse further enhanced by subtle semi-reflective qualities in the field. Sharply struck overall, this final year Capped Bust half dime would make a pleasing addition to a Gem type set.
PCGS# 4289. NGC ID: 232K.
PCGS Population (all die marriages of the Large 5 C. variety): 12; 11 finer (MS-67+ finest).
From the Collection of James Allaire Millholland, 1842-1911.
