1918 Lincoln-Illinois Centennial. MS-67+ (PCGS). CAC.
This stunning Superb Gem possesses a pattern of toning that we have encountered in several other fully original examples of the type. Both sides exhibit halos of crimson-russet and cobalt blue rim toning around centers adorned with speckles of lighter color, as well as some silvery brilliance. Razor sharp in strike with smooth, billowy satin luster. Lovely! Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Illinois statehood. Abraham Lincoln, the state's most famous one-time resident is depicted on the obverse. An excellent example for inclusion in a world class commemorative set.
