Description

LOT WITHDRAWN
Warmly and evenly retoned in bold olive-orange, this coin is quite attractive to the unaided eye. A glossy texture and wispy hairlines betray an old cleaning, and a neatly executed plug at 11 o'clock relative to the obverse further identifies this as a former jewelry piece. Overall detail remains bold, nonetheless, with the finer elements of Liberty's portrait and the reverse actually quite sharp. With offerings for this die pairing usually few and far between, we anticipate keen interest in this lot among early gold variety specialists. BD Die State a/b.
PCGS# 8562. NGC ID: 2625.
From the Harvey B. Jacobson Jr. Collection. Earlier from our Baltimore Auction of June 2017, lot 11415.
