1887 Morgan Silver Dollar. Proof-65 (PCGS). CAC.
Rich, varied toning in olive-russet, champagne-apricot, reddish-gold and powder-blue greets the viewer from the obverse of this awe-inspiring specimen. The reverse is equally original, albeit more reserved in dusky mauve-gray and sandy-tan. While most of the 710 Proof Morgan dollars that the Philadelphia Mint produced in 1887 are extant (per Q. David Bowers, 1993), most are in lower grades through Proof-64, making this Gem a significant find for quality conscious collectors.
