1794 Talbot, Allum & Lee Cent / John Howard Mule. Fuld Mule-5A, W-8722. Rarity-8. Plain Edge. MS-62 BN (PCGS).
115.8 grains. The extremely rare Plain Edge variety of the John Howard mule. Just two have been graded at PCGS, the other being an AU-58 (ex New Netherlands 60th Sale, lot 428), and we are aware of no other examples. A very attractive piece with choice, gently lustrous surfaces and ideal light to medium brown color. No meaningful marks or spots. A notably strong strike for this muling with excellent centering and far more detail than typically seen on the drapery of the obverse figure and on the bust of John Howard.
