GAIUS CAESAR, 12 B.C. to A.D. 4. Phrygia, Hierapolis. AE 15 mm. NGC VF. Light Scratches.
RPC-2946 (Augustus). Obverse: Bare head of Gaius right; Reverse: Laurel branch. A charming provincial minor with a pleasing seldom-seen portrait of Augustus' would-be successor, the young Gaius Caesar. Dark mottled green patina with touches of earthen highlights. An attractive exemplar.
