SASSANIAN EMPIRE. Husrav I, A.D. 531-579. (4.12 gms), GD (Gay) Mint, Dated RY 21 (A.D. 551). CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE.
Sellwood-54; cf. SC Tehran-679 (different date). Obverse: Crowned bust right; Reverse: Fire altar flanked by attendants; star and crescent flanking flames. A stunningly sharp Drachm with well-struck details and brilliant luster. The surfaces are dramatically toned with vivid iridescent color.
