CARIA. Islands off Caria. Rhodes. AR Didrachm (6.84 gms), ca. 340-320 B.C. PCGS VF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5. Overstruck.
HGC-6, 1433; Ashton-98. Obverse: Head of Helios facing slightly right; Reverse: Rose with bud to right; grape bunch and E to left; all within incuse square. A pleasing well-struck example of this earlier type with an incuse reverse. The deep cabinet toning offers hints of iridescence at the peripheries.
