KORKYRA. Under Roman Rule. AR Didrachm, ca. 229-48 B.C. NGC EF.
HGC-6, 65; SNG Lockett-3531 (this coin). Obverse: Wreathed head of Dionysos right; Reverse: Pegasos flying right; monogram below. A lightly handled and deeply toned specimen. Though a small edge split is noted, the coin is impressively well-struck. Abundant luster throughout gives the piece depth and elegance.
