ILLYRICUM. Dyrrhachion. AR Stater (8.35 gms), ca. 435-433 B.C. NGC VF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5.
HGC-3.1, 28; Pegasi-13. Obverse: Pegasos flying right; ∆ below; Helmeted head of Athena left; dolphin before, Σ and club behind. A rather SCARCE Stater with great eye appeal. Both sides are well-centered and pleasingly struck, and the surfaces are attractively toned. An enticing example.
