MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Alexander III (the Great), 336-323 B.C. AR Drachm, Sardes Mint, ca. 324/3 B.C. NGC Ch EF★.
Pr-2571; SNG Lockett-1485 (this coin illustrated). Struck under Menander. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; rose below throne. This attractive Drachm is well-struck and highly original. Sharp detail on both sides, complemented by deep cabinet toning.
