SICILY. Syracuse. Deinomenid Tyranny, 485-466 B.C. AR Obol or Litra, struck under Hieron I, ca. 475-470 B.C. NGC Ch F.
HGC-2, 1371. Obverse: Diademed head of Arethousa right; Reverse: Wheel with four spokes. While decently circulated, this silver minor displays a strong portrait of the famed nymph in charming archaic style. The simple reverse design is well-centered and sharp.
