SICILY. Selinos. AR Didrachm (8.72 gms), ca. 540-515 B.C. NGC AU, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 3/5. Edge Filing.
HGC-2, 1209; Weber-1527 (this coin illustrated). Obverse: Selinon leaf; two pellets in upper field; Reverse: Incuse square divided into ten sections. A beautiful example with a strong obverse. Some die degradation and encrustation is visible on the reverse. The deeply toned surfaces and sharp details make this a particularly charming piece.
