ITALY. Calabria. Tarentum. AR Didrachm (Nomos) (6.31 gms), ca. 280-272 B.C. NGC VF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.
HGC-1, 879; HN Italy-997. Reduced standard. Obverse: Youth on horseback left, crowning horse; cornucopia to right, |-AΠEAC below; Reverse: Phalanthos, holding kantharos and trident, riding dolphin left; ΠOΛY to right. Though somewhat circulated, this Didrachm retains pleasing detail and attractive light toning.
