Countermark: Type V; crowned F.7.0 within circle. Applied to the obverse of a 1823-LIMA JP Peru Republic "Libre" 8 Reales; Variety with long tassels above date. A SCARCE and always in demand host, this handsome and moderately worn example displays light attractive gray tone with areas of richer coloration amongst the devices.
