MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1815-Mo JJ. Mexico City Mint. Ferdinand VII. PCGS AU-55.
KM-111; Yonaka-M8-115. A date that becomes difficult to find in choice AU and higher grades, the current example's AU-55 grade is quickly overshadowed by the vivid rainbow toning that envelopes both sides. Likely stored for years in an old envelope, the obverse shows emerald greens and violet that seamlessly transition to blues and burnt orange, while the reverse manages to maintain a brighter center as the delightful amber color encircles the design. Only 4 graded higher at PCGS.
