CHILE. 8 Escudos, 1836-So IJ. Santiago Mint. NGC AU-58.
Fr-37; KM-93. The ever-popular "hand on book" type, this near-Mint State specimen radiates with exceptional brilliance and luster, all while displaying just a slight degree of wear upon the high points and a charming, subtle tone. Interestingly, close inspection also confirms that this coin was struck over an earlier Chilean 8 Escudos (KM-84) with remnants of details remaining visible around portions of the legends and in the centers.
