LESBOS. Mytilene. EL Hekte (2.52 gms), ca. 521-478 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 4/5.
HGC-6, 938; Bod-13. Obverse: Head of roaring lion right; Reverse: Incuse head of calf right; rectangular punch to left. A few edge splits are noted, but this alluring and enticing fractional in electrum presents a very boldly struck lion along with some enchanting golden-olive color.
Ex: Weise Collection (purchased from Baldwin's at the NYINC, 1/2008).
