PONTOS. Kingdom of Pontos. Mithradates VI, 120-63 B.C. AV Stater (8.20 gms), Istros Mint, ca. 88-86 B.C. NGC Ch MS, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 5/5. Die Shift.
SNG Cop-1094 (Thrace). Struck in the name and types of Lysimachos of Thrace. Obverse: Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon; Reverse: Athena seated left on throne, with arm resting upon shield; spear diagonally in background; ΔΙ to inner left, ΙΣ on throne; in exergue, ornate trident left. Incredibly well centered and vibrant, this choice specimen certainly dazzles and presents quality that is virtually never seen.
