SICILY. Siculo-Punic. Entella. AR Tetradrachm (16.77 gms), ca. 300-289 B.C. NGC MS, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.
HGC-2, 293; Jenkins-279 (O89/R230). Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; kerykeion below; Reverse: Head of horse left; palm tree to right, 'MHMḤNT (in Punic) below. An interesting and fairly RARE type featuring an obverse symbol (along with the beginning of the die's characteristic crack running from the nose of Herakles), this shimmering Mint State specimen dazzles with great brilliance and luster, all while possessing a bold and rather well centered strike.
