Fr. 1925-K. 1999 $1 Federal Reserve Note. Dallas. PCGS Currency Very Fine 20. Additional Block Prefix Letter.
This 1995 $1 FRN was printed on the SOI (Super Orlof Intaglio) press. This is the same press that prints dual prefix letters for use on denominations $5-$100. This error does appear in the census of the book United States Paper Money Errors by Dr. Frederick J. Bart. The left serial number K53871322A is seen in normal fashion. The right serial number is seen with an additional prefix letter LK53871322A. Any estimate is simply a guess, but we won't be surprised if this exceeds our high estimate. We sold a similar additional block prefix note in our Sumer 2022 Global Showcase sale for $8,400, and we would not be surprised if this example meets or exceeds that number.
