A note which always stands out in any large size federal collection. This 1882 $500 design enjoys a portrait vignette of Lincoln facing at left and striking gold under-printing making up the protector and serial number frames. The important reverse design shows excellent appeal for the assigned grade in dark orange ink. Just 55 examples of this Teehee - Burke signed variety are recorded in Track & Price at the time of cataloging, with auction appearances being fairly sparse per year.
