Fr. 3. 1861 $5 Demand Note. PMG Very Fine 20.
Boston. Series 8. This is one of the nicest Very Fine 20 Demand Notes in which we have had the pleasure of offering. No hard folds disrupt the design, and the signatures remain completely legible and attractive given the grade and circulation. A deep green central protector is welcomed as are the fine detail of the primary design features with a Statue of Freedom at left and Alexander Hamilton at lower right. Terrific Gothic font of UNITED STATES arched at top center and repeated FIVE making up the borders. The number of "5"s noticed on the reverse of the note is astounding, and you could easily get lost in the field of fives. Collectors would be hard pressed to locate a better looking $5 Demand Note in this grade. Worthy of a premium bid.
