1827 Capped Bust Half Dollar. O-115. Rarity-3. Square Base 2. MS-61 (PCGS). OGH.
Toned with an obverse peripheral ring of deep golden-russet and iridescent cobalt-blue, the reverse is mostly untoned. The surfaces are excellent for the modest grade, with no distracting scratches or surface abrasions of any consequence. The strike is reasonably sharp with bold separation on Liberty's curls and the eagle's talons show fully rounded knobs. A lustrous and pleasing coin to represent this scarcer variety.
