GREAT BRITAIN. Shilling, ND (1551-53). London Mint; mm: tun. Edward VI. PCGS EF-45.
S-2482; N-1937. Third period, fine silver issue. Obverse: Crowned and ermine-mantled bust facing slightly left; Tudor rose to left, XII (mark of value) to right; Reverse: Square-topped coat-of-arms over long cross fourchee. Well struck and centered, this enticing specimen offers deep gunmetal gray toning and a tremendous wholesome nature. While a slight degree of weakness is noted in the youthful king's portrait, the detailing in his ermine mantle is rather precise.
