1900-S Liberty Head Eagle. MS-63 (PCGS).
A beautiful example with pale flashes of powder blue and pinkish-rose that accent the golden-apricot color. Nicely struck with notable prooflike tendencies in the fields. After producing a generous total of 841,000 coins in 1899, the San Francisco Mint delivered just 81,000 eagles in 1900. This is a low mintage issue whose scarcity in Mint State has so far withstood the test of time. Few examples have come out of hiding in foreign bank hoards. Here is a solidly graded Choice example with superior quality that is knocking on the door of Condition Census.
PCGS# 8746. NGC ID: 267N.
