1866-S Liberty Head Eagle. Motto. AU Details--Cleaned (PCGS).
Attractive straw-gold with numerous hairlines from the stated cleaning. Traces of hidden luster remain on the nearly mark-free surfaces. One of 11,500 eagles of the date and type produced, of which most survivors are just Fine to VF with not many sorties into the higher grade range. Despite the cleaning, still a pleasing coin with good eye appeal and a reputation for scarcity in higher grades.
