1869 Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. MS-62 (PCGS).
A highly lustrous, honey-gold specimen with frosted motifs and fields alike. Sharply struck, undeniably attractive for the assigned grade, and probably worthy of another look by the grading service as the eye appeal easily outpaces most similarly graded pieces. From a small mintage for the date of just 4,320 circulation strikes, very few survivors from that figure can equal or surpass the quality of the present coin. Just a couple of small contact marks are mentioned to the left of the eagle's beak. Indeed, PCGS has seen fit to certify just six examples of the date at finer grades. Bid liberally here, for your diligence and perseverance may pay off.
