1850-C Gold Dollar. Winter-1, the only known dies. AU-58 (NGC).
Attractive khaki-olive surfaces have an uncommonly original appearance in this lightly circulated Charlotte Mint gold dollar. Overall boldly defined with pleasingly smooth surfaces, this coin is sure to sell for a premium bid to a discerning Southern gold collector. Discounting only the legendary 1849-C Open Wreath, the 1850-C is the rarest gold dollar from this coinage facility. Only 6,966 pieces were produced, survivors scarce and typically offered in lower grades through VF. This is an above average example in terms of both preservation and eye appeal -- it's "just right" in our eyes.
