1844-D Liberty Head Quarter Eagle. Winter 5-I. EF-45 (PCGS).
A base of honey-olive color blankets both sides, the obverse with an overlay of iridescent honey-rose toning. With sharp detail for the grade that even extends into the centers, this is one of the 15 to 20% of 1844-D quarter eagles that is well struck (this estimate per Doug Winter, 2013). Lustrous, smooth and attractive Choice EF quality that is sure to appeal to astute Southern gold enthusiasts.
