1839-D Classic Head Quarter Eagle. HM-2, Winter 1-A. Rarity-4. VF-35 (PCGS). CAC.
Attractive deep honey-olive surfaces with enhancing blushes of reddish-rose and powder blue. Well defined overall for the assigned grade, there is ample evidence of an above average strike in the center of the reverse for an example of the HM-2 die pairing. There are traces of luster remaining to further confirm the premium quality of this desirable mid grade 1839-D quarter eagle.
