Serial number "A000001A." Milky white paper and attractive embossing are readily noticed on this ultra-low serial number Jefferson County issued note. The Simmons NB of Pine Bluff was chartered in March of 1903, and issued an eye-popping $2,848,050 during its operation. The bank lasted until the end of the National Currency era in 1935, with $175,350 reported out at close. Checking Track & Price's census, this appears to be the only small size serial number one note available to collectors from the bank.
