Fr. 1173am*. 1922 $10 Gold Certificate Mule Star Note. PMG Very Fine 30.
A extremely rare star note. While stars on 1922 $10 Gold Certificates are fairly available, the overwhelming majority of those seen are on Fr. 1173. In fact, 306 are listed in the Track and Price. However, the Fr. 1173am variety with the small serial number is quite a different case. Just 17 examples are reported in Track and Price's census. The appearance of this example is an important opportunity for replacement & gold certificate collectors, so keep your paddle held high until the hammer falls.
