1837 Capped Bust Half Dollar. Reeded Edge. 50 CENTS. GR-9. Rarity-1. MS-61 (PCGS).
Here is a superior Mint State example of this brief design type from the final years of the popular Capped Bust half dollar series. Otherwise brilliant, the satiny surfaces exhibit subtle reddish-gold iridescence around the peripheries. Sharply defined in the centers with much to recommend it to the discerning numismatist.

From our ANA Auction of August 2021, lot 3164. Earlier, acquired from Lester Merkin at $115, date not recorded. Company tag included.
