1904-O Liberty Head Eagle. Winter-1, the only known dies. MS-63 (PCGS).
An attractive eagle, displaying honey-gold color with a tinge of pale apricot iridescence. Both sides exhibit softly frosted luster that includes some satiny qualities. Sharply struck. This is the second most obtainable New Orleans Mint eagle, trailing only the 1903-O, and enough examples have been repatriated from foreign bank hoards that the collector should have no difficulty locating an Uncirculated coin in the MS-60 to basal MS-62 grade range. Any finer and this issue remains scarce. A noteworthy bidding opportunity for the astute gold collector.
PCGS# 8756. NGC ID: 267Z.
