1899-S Liberty Head Eagle. MS-63+ (PCGS).
Highly lustrous satin to softly frosted surfaces are fully struck with vivid, original deep orange-gold color. The most plentiful San Francisco Mint eagle from the mid to late 1890s, the 1899-S is still scarce when compared to such truly common Liberty Head issues as the 1901 and 1901-S. Finer than the typically offered survivor in MS-61 or MS-62, this impressive Choice Uncirculated example belongs in an advanced gold cabinet.
PCGS# 8744. NGC ID: 267L.
PCGS Population: 18; 30 finer (MS-68 finest).
