1875-CC Liberty Head Double Eagle. Unc Details--Altered Surfaces (PCGS).
As one of the most available Carson City double eagles, the 1875-CC is particularly popular with collectors desiring an example from the legendary Nevada mint. However, this issue is incredibly challenging at the finer Mint State levels. The present piece is a more affordable alternative due to moderate hairlining and a curiously glossy texture, but there are few sizable marks. What appears to have been superior luster suggest this was likely Choice Uncirculated before the impairment. Worthy of serious consideration.
