1812 Classic Head Cent. S-288. Rarity-2. EF-40 (PCGS).
This handsome piece exhibits a blend of medium and autumn-brown patina, the latter color representing those areas where original mint red color was last to fade. The strike is well centered and bold for the type, and we note only a few minor handling marks from time spent in active commerce. A pleasing EF to represent this brief and conditionally challenging large cent series.
