MACEDON. Kingdom of Macedon. Philip III, 323-317 B.C. AR Tetradrachm (16.53 gms), Babylon Mint, ca. 323-318/7 B.C. NGC Ch EF, Strike: 5/5 Surface: 2/5. Smoothing.
Pr-P181. Obverse: Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; Reverse: Zeus seated left on throne, holding eagle and scepter; "M" in left field; below throne, ΛY below strut. Demonstrating strong details, this example is a charming representative of the popular Alexander style Tetradrachm. Some smoothing and an off-center strike is noted for completeness, along with less than argent and shining surfaces.
