MEXICO. 8 Reales, 1847-Ca RG. Chihuahua Mint. NGC MS-60.
KM-377.2; DP-Ca18. RARELY seen in high grade, Dunigan and Parker note that most examples of this type are normally seen in Very Fine condition. Only one example in an NGC holder surpasses this one in terms of grade, highlighting just how uncommon it is to find a Mint State example. Beautiful luster of a somewhat delicate nature is displayed, with hearty iridescent toning near the peripheries. A soft strike is noted, a common occurrence for the type, and somewhat light marks can be seen. Nevertheless, this example provides collectors of this popular series with the chance at an example in virtually unseen condition.
