KOREA. White Metal 5 Niang Pattern, Year 495 (1886). Kojong (as King). PCGS Genuine--Corrosion Removed, AU Details.
KM-Pn16; K&C-24.2. Tai Guk design; test coin for the first modern machine struck coinage series of Korea. An EXTREMELY RARE issue with very few examples known and that seldom appear on the market. Signs of minor-to-heavy corrosion on the reverse are noted, accounting for the details designation, but nearly complete design features remain intact. As such an affordable example of these generally tough-to-locate types that are always highly sought after.
