(t) CHINA--EMPIRE. Tong Chu Shing Bank. 1000 Cash, ND (ca. 1910). P-Unlisted. Small Commercial (Private) Issue. PCGS Banknote Very Good 10.

An interesting vertical format private issue 1000 Cash note. The design on the face is of an eagle clutching dual flags at top center in dark purple ink, with a light green floral underprint at left and right of the center writing. At bottom in English is "Promise to Pay The Bearer One Thousand Cash." The reverse is in a red-orange color, and depicts a lion guarding its cub at center. Lovely color and appeal for the assigned grade, and the first example we have had the pleasure of offering from this issuer.
