CHINA--EMPIRE. Ming Dynasty. 1 Kuan, 1368-99. P-AA10. PMG About Uncirculated 55.
(S/M#T36-20). PMG has graded just three examples finer than this impressive Ming Dynasty note. Light vermillion stamps are readily noticed, and the design remains dark. The issue has received tremendous attention as of late with the strong increase in demand for Chinese paper money. Most examples known today were originally discovered during the Boxer Rebellion in the early 20th century. A later trove was found within a time capsule during the demolition of a Temple around the outskirts of Beijing in the 1930's.
