Description

Tarrytown, New York. 1882 Date Back $10 Fr. 545. The Tarrytown NB. Charter #2626. PMG Choice Very Fine 35.

A Choice Very Fine 35, that, apart from light signatures, appears closer to Extremely Fine, this important note is likely the finest of the three extant. Four full and well balanced margins along with crisp paper and rich blue overprint lend a look of quality and freshness to this note. Tarrytown is a village in the town of Greenburgh, on the east bank of the Hudson River, about 25 miles north of Manhattan and was mentioned in 1820 by Washington Irving in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow". Pedigreed to the Malcolm Trask Collection, this note last sold in December 2010 for $4,370.

Estimate: $3000.00 - $5000.00
