1902-S Liberty Head Double Eagle. MS-61 (PCGS).
Of the 1,753,625 double eagles coined in the San Francisco Mint in 1902, exportation as part of the United States' international trade was the destiny for most examples. Many have been repatriated in recent years, providing a bountiful supply for Mint State type and date collectors. The present coin is attractively original, typical of the Fairmont Collection, and would make a lovely addition to any cabinet.
