Description

Kansas, Illinois. $2 Original. Fr. 389. The First NB. Charter #2011. PCGS Currency Choice About New 58 Apparent. Small Edge Nick at Top Right.

Lazy Deuces are always popular among collectors, and this high grade example is sure to please. The overprints pop in dark cherry red ink. Boldly penned signatures remain fully legible & neat. The reverse features a detailed vignette at center of Sir Walter Raleigh exhibiting items from the New World to the Old World, which consist of corn and smoking tobacco. Surrounding the central vignette on the reverse is intricate lathe work in dark green ink, with the state seal of Illinois at left and the seal of the United States at right. Collectors will be hard pressed to find a more attractive Original Series Deuce. PCGS Currency comments "Small Edge Nick at Top Right."
