New Series 68. PMG comments "Exceptional Color & Embossing" on this fantastically preserved $5 Legal. Art-like appeal is readily apparent on the obverse and reverse courtesy of the American Bank Note Company. The small red spiked treasury seal shows exceptional appeal for the type, gleaming in ruby red ink. The central underprint is found in a dark moss green color and contrasts nicely with the creamy white paper and jet black design details. The margins are nice offering plentiful paper on all sides. All notes from the 1862-63 series are rare in Gem grades, and this example is sure to draw excitement from any large size or early U.S. paper collector. PMG Pop 7/None Finer.
