Description

North Carolina. Uncut Sheet of (3) Notes. December 1771. 2s/6d-5s-1s. PCGS Currency Gem New 65 PPQ.

No. 19147. Signed by John Harvey, John Rutherford, Lewis DeRosset, and Richard Caswell. Superbly margined, deeply embossed, wonderfully printed, and with the look of a better grade. Easily 90% or more of the sheets that survived in bundles were the 2s6d (House)-1L-10s type. The sheets with the 2s6d (Duck)-5s-1s format are far scarcer and very desirable, particularly at the gem grade level. The example of this type sold by us was way back in 2013 as part of the Ford sales. That one we graded raw Uncirculated and it sold for $822.50.

Estimate: $1000.00 - $1500.00
